ACX Training Courses

We offer three different trainings for our new ACX Power Ascender:

  1. ACX Training for Personal Ascent
  2. ACX Training for Lifting Loads
  3. ACX Instructor Course

ACX Training for Personal Ascent

In certain circumstances rope works are required, for instance building facia access. To make this operation simpler and safer to the user, the SKYLOTEC ACX Training for Personal Ascent is the solution. This description will outline a 2 day course designed to train the user how to safely set up a rope works system and ascend/descend using the ACX unit.

Target groups

Personnel requiring training to safely access eleveted structures using rope works systems. These may include window cleaners, painters, geotech technicians or inspection service providers.

Learning outcomes

Delegates will gain the knowledge to explain and demonstrate:

  • Pre-use check of the SKYLOTEC ACX unit
  • Pre-use inspection of main and safety ropes
  • In depth knowledge of how to tie anchor, midline and end knots in ropes understanding their limitations
  • Risk assessment
  • Making the work area safe and having deep knowledge of safety supervision
  • Selection of anchor points
  • Wide knowledge of rope work equipment
  • Correct choice of harness
  • Correct attachment of ACX unit and sit board to the user
  • Correct use of the SKYLOTEC ACX unit
  • Ascent and descent using the SKYLOTEC ACX unit
  • Rescue plans and how to rescue the user

Duration

2 days. 14 hours contact time

Day 1: Theoretical, demonstration and practical workshop
Day 2: Practical applications of the SKYLOTEC ACX

Pre-requisites

  • All personnel participating in SKYLOTEC ACX Training for Personal Ascent must hold a basic working at height certificate
  • All persons participating shall be medically fit and capable of full participating and be able to sign a confirm a medical statement

Certificate / Validity / Refresher

  • SKYLOTEC ACX for Personal Ascent Certificate has an validity of 24 month
  • Refresher course have to be conducted to obtain the certificate

ACX Training for Lifting Loads

The  ACX Training can be used to lift loads of up to 200 kg. This offers a solution to users who need a light and portable device for deployment in the field. This description will outline a 1 day course designed to train the user how to safely set up and operate a lifting system using the SKYLOTEC ACX unit.

Target group

Personnel requiring training to lift loads using the ACX. These may include wind farm operators, construction sites, geotech technicians or inspection services.

Learning outcomes

Delegates will gain the knowledge to explain and demonstrate:

  • Pre-use check of the SKYLOTEC ACX unit
  • Pre-use inspection of the lifting rope
  • How to tie a figure of eight and stopper knot in ropes
  • Risk assessment
  • Gain knowledge of regional lifting regulations
  • Making the work area safe and rope management
  • Selection of anchor points
  • Top rigging of the ACX unit
  • Bottom rigging of the ACX unit
  • Running ascent of the ACX unit

ACX Instructor Course

Instructor course to train Working at height instructors to train users in the use of the SKYLOTEC ACX unit for Personal Ascent and Lifting Loads. This description will outline a 3 day course designed to train instructors how to safely train users in the above mentioned competences.

Target group

Instructors requiring training on how to deliver our SKYLOTEC ACX unit courses for Personal Ascent and Lifting Loads.

Learning outcomes

Delegates will gain the knowledge and skills to teach the following

  • Pre-use check of the SKYLOTEC ACX unit
  • Pre-use inspection of main and safety ropes
  • How to tie anchor knots and stopper knot in ropes
  • Rigging principals
  • Risk assessment and local lifting legislation
  • Making the work area safe
  • Selection of anchor points, permanent systems and approved
  • Correct choice of harness and technical details
  • Correct attachment of ACX unit and sit board to the user
  • Correct use of the SKYLOTEC ACX unit
  • Ascent and descent using the SKYLOTEC ACX unit
  • Rescue plans and how to rescue the user
  • Teach users how to configure the ACX unit for lifting purposes highlighting the hazards and risks of this operation
  • How to produce lifting plans
