L’Etiopia è una delle culle della moderna umanità e ha molto da offrire non solo dal punto di vista storico e culturale. Caratterizzato da paesaggi molto vari, l’altopiano etiopico si distingue per le sue numerose formazioni rocciose, che rendono interessante questa meta anche per gli scalatori. Ma perché scegliere proprio un paese con delle strutture turistiche praticamente inesistenti e sul quale si sono scarse conoscenze in merito alla qualità delle rocce? A spingere l'atleta della SKYLOTEC Michael “Much” Mayr e il suo partner di arrampicata Hansjörg è stato un misto di curiosità e voglia di avventura. L’idea è scaturita dai racconti di un amico che aveva adottato anni prima un bambino proveniente da questa regione e parlava sempre con grande entusiasmo delle impressionanti montagne di arenaria.
