On via ferratas their primary purpose is protection, in particular from sharp protruding strands from the steel cable. For belaying and abseiling they provide better control of the rope speed and also protect you from injury. Made of goat leather and nylon, the KS gloves are super robust and extremely breathable. Both the fingerless and full finger versions are easy to take off.
