As the first German training company to be certified in accordance with ISO 9001, SKYLOTEC’s aim is to ensure the safety of workers with regard to particular and individual hazards at the workplace. To minimise accidents and health risks, the company offers regular courses concerning personal fall-protection equipment (PFPE), has an outdoor area for practical training in Neuwied (in existence for many years) and has an indoor training centre (Vertical Rescue College, built in 2012) that can be used all the year round. In order to be able to offer the best possible instruction, not only for its products but also with regard to its training courses, SKYLOTEC is now certified in accordance with the IRATA standard.
IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) was formed in 1988 in England, for the purpose of overcoming the maintenance problems experienced in the offshore oil and gas industries. Today, IRATA has members from all the world (including the whole of Europe, Brazil, China, South Africa, the USA and Australia), which have to fulfil and permanently adhere to the strictest conditions. The rope access techniques developed by IRATA are currently used in many branches to carry out repair, maintenance, inspection and access work. Regarding these techniques, the associated safety statistics are unmatched, assembly and dismantling can be performed quickly, the benefits for the environment are substantial and no invasive equipment or interruptions to work at the site are necessary. To be accepted by IRATA, all member companies have to prove that they meet specific requirements, and are subject to regular inspections from an independent body; this ensures that the IRATA conditions concerning safety, training, work technique and quality assurance are satisfied at all times.
SKYLOTEC satisfies these requirements in all respects, and is officially an IRATA member and IRATA training company (for IRATA levels 1 to 3).
