SKYLOTEC opens new administrative building in Neuwied

Following a planning and construction phase lasting just over a year, SKYLOTEC, Germany’s market leader for industrial fall-protection equipment and mountaineering specialist, last Friday opened its new administrative building in Oberbieber, a part of the German town of Neuwied.

Shorter routes, faster communication and more space for innovation were the premises for constructing the office complex, which has a “green building” design in accordance with the most recent energy directives.

After a formal welcome address from Dr. Kai Rinklake, managing director of SKYLOTEC, followed by a speech on work safety and social responsibility given by David Langner, state secretary of the Ministerium für Soziales, Arbeit, Gesundheit und Demografie Rheinland-Pfalz (Ministry of Social Affairs, Labour, Health and Demography in the German state of Rheinland-Pfalz), Sabine Bätzing - Lichtenthäler and Erwin Rüddel, both Members of German Parliament, and afterwards Nikolaus Roth, mayor of Neuwied, addressed the audience.

At just before 3.00 pm the big moment arrived and architect Sarah Schellenberg along with Marco Bayer, branch director of the building company involved, handed over the key to the building to Dr. Rinklake. After viewing the office complex together with the production site and the Vertical Rescue College, a training and instruction centre opened last year, the attendees got to experience the high life. At the “Dinner in the Sky” event, at which a dining table was attached to a crane at a height of 50 metres, the guests were able to view the building from an angle so typical for the users of SKYLOTEC products. The day was rounded off with an evening do and live music that lasted until late into the night.
