SAAC

SAAC (Snow & Alpine Awareness Camps), based in Innsbruck, was set up 20 years ago to draw mountaineers’ attention to the risks they may face in the Alps, actively raise awareness and encourage people to take responsibility for themselves. Each year, between 24 and 30 free camps are on offer in Austria, where mountain sports enthusiasts can learn a great deal about the dangers of the mountains. At SAAC climbing and via ferrata camps, professional mountain guides point out what to watch out for on the rock face and what you can do to maximise your safety. The two-day camps include a theoretical and a practical element. SKYLOTEC equipment, which fulfils the highest safety requirements, is used during the camps.
