Re-seal rescue devices: SKYLOTEC doubles lifetime of "Seal Pacs”

To be able to leave a wind turbine quickly in an emergency, European standards and occupational health and safety laws prescribe a second escape route. The SKYLOTEC rescue system is often used for this purpose. It is stored in place in the "Seal Pac" (a sealed aluminium box) for up to 10 years. Now the manufacturer of fall protection systems offers the possibility of extending the service life by another ten years. This is cost-effective and sustainable. Read more

SKYLOTEC makes cleaning facades more efficient with “ACX” and “Skyrail”

The use of facade access systems and mobile elevated work platforms to clean and maintain complex building facades can often be costly and sometimes even impossible. SKYLOTEC now offers an alternative that makes working on such facade structures much easier: by combining the “Skyrail” rail system with the battery-operated “ACX” power ascender. This work device replaces access systems or mobile work platforms for building cleaners. “ACX” makes the place of work easier to reach and users can then carry out their work along the facade more efficiently and more flexibly. Manufacturers' Associations Provide Information About Transitional Provision

What's right and what's wrong? Regulation 2016/425 regarding personal protective equipment (PPE Regulation) has applied since 21 April 2018. There is still a lot of misinformation on the market regarding the transitional provision, which expires on 21 April 2019. The rights and obligations of distributors are erroneously equated, for example, with those of manufacturers. Here you can read what effects the transitional provision will actually have on manufacturers and resellers and when the placing on the market or sale of goods will no longer be permitted under the old law. Michael “Much” Mayr returns from Ethiopia

Ethiopia is one of the cradles of modern humanity and has plenty more to offer than just history and culture. The diverse landscape of the Ethiopian Highlands, offering a wide range of rock formations, makes Ethiopia an interesting destination for climbers as well. But why choose a country where hardly any areas have yet been opened up and very little is known about the quality of the rock climbing? For SKYLOTEC athlete Michael “Much” Mayr and his climbing partner Hansjörg Auer, it was a mixture of curiosity and a thirst for adventure. The idea came about after listening to the stories of a friend, who had adopted a child from the region years ago and was always raving about the impressive sandstone mountains. Also, the climate in the Ethiopian Highlands still allows for activities in the sun in March, which can never be taken for granted in Africa – not without reason as it is home to the hottest place on the planet. Neuwied 29 May 2018 – The brand SKYLOTEC stands for the highest safety in industry and mountain sport and guarantees this through high standards and regular internal tests. In the critical area of via ferrata sets in particular, we aim to offer the “safest via ferrata set on the market” since we launched the “RIDER” and our quality controls at SKYLOTEC are accordingly stringent. During the routine quality check of the last batch of the SKYSAFE carabiner, we noticed that its break values are scattered, even though the hardness tests exhibited no deviations. During an enhanced sampling, erratic values were even determined in a range that is no longer standard-compliant/safety-relevant. Read more
