IRATA
TRAINING


In this course, you will acquire knowledge and skills in rope access and positioning techniques (RAP) in accordance with IRATA standards. IRATA, the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association, sets globally recognised safety and training guidelines for rope access work. 

The training course covers the contents necessary for the safe and efficient procedure of tasks in difficult-to-reach RAP areas. The IRATA standards are nationally and internationally recognised and form the essential basis for professional rope access techniques worldwide. 

We offer training in the following areas: 

  • IRATA LEVEL 1 (Duration 5 days)
  • IRATA LEVEL 2 (Duration 5 days)
  • IRATA LEVEL 3 (Duration 5 days) 

Special features for upgrade training

  • Upgrade to Level 2
    min. 12 months at Level 1, min. 1000 hours of experience in the logbook at Level 1.
    The Level 1 certificate must still be valid on the day of the test! 
  • Upgrade to Level 3
    min. 12 months of Level 2, min. 1000 hours of experience in the logbook at Level 2.
    The Level 2 certificate must still be valid on the day of the test!

  • Basic knowledge Laws and regulations for RAP
  • Knowledge of IRATA guidelines (ICOP and TACS)
  • Recognising and assessing hazards and risks
  • Use of personal protective equipment against falls from a height
  • Knot technique
  • Basic knowledge of construction procedures for rope routes
  • Vertical and horizontal access procedures
  • Edge transfer
Rescue technique:
  • from the descender
IRATA Level 2
  • Advanced knowledge Laws and regulations for RAP
  • Advanced knowledge of the IRATA ICOP and IRATA TACS
  • Knowledge of hazards and risks associated with RAP
  • Use of personal protective equipment against falls from a height
  • Advanced rope construction methods
  • Fundamentals of pulley blocks
  • Vertical and horizontal access procedures 
Advanced rescue techniques:
  • Rescue from the chest ascension clamp
  • Rescue from horizontal structures
  • Rescue over an intermediate anchorage
  • Rescue over a simple deflection
IRATA Level 3
  • In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations for RAP
  • In-depth knowledge of the IRATA ICOP and IRATA TACS
  • Preparation of a risk assessment, access concept and rescue concept
  • In-depth knowledge of the hazards and risks associated with RAP
  • Use of personal protective equipment against falls from a height
  • In-depth knowledge of rope construction
  • Advanced knowledge of pulley blocks
  • Vertical and horizontal access procedures 
Advanced rescue techniques:
  • Rescue of complex structures (short link)
  • Rescue with a lifting system
  • Rescue inline
  • Rescue over a double deflection
  • Rescue over knots
  • Rescue from the large rope change
  • Rescue in a team (supervisor position)
