The Ansgar Church in Elmshorn is not only a historical and architectural masterpiece, but also a place of faith and tradition. Despite its rich history, it has to keep pace with modern safety requirements. The servicing of the bell in the church tower, which has to be carried out twice a year, posed a particular challenge, especially after the outdated climbing protection system had to be taken out of service due to safety standards.
SKYLOTEC was awarded the contract to upgrade the safety system to the latest state of the art. The outdated system was replaced by the advanced SKYTAC rail system. In addition, special D-BOLT anchor points were installed to ensure safe access to the bell.
The biggest challenge was to convince the conservation authorities that the installation of the new safety system was necessary to ensure the safety of the workers without compromising the historical integrity of the building. With careful planning, it was possible to install the SKYTAC rail system in such a way that it met the highest safety standards while leaving the historical heritage of the Ansgar Church intact.
The SKYTAC system now enables workers to carry out the necessary servicing and cleaning work on the bell in the tower of Ansgar Church safely and without risk.
