Course description
Personal protective equipment against falls from a height (PPE) must meet high requirements and safety standards so that it can safely and reliably protect the user from the deadly danger of falling. In addition to high quality standards in the manufacture and correct use of PPE, the correct and regular inspection of the material is an important prerequisite for the safety of the user.
The annual inspection must be carried out by a PPE expert. This extensive but also detailed training ensures optimal preparation for the expert.

Target group
Persons who already have experience with PPE and who will be performing tests for PPE in the future.
Participation requirements
Minimum age 18 years
According to the assigned tasks: maturity of character, reliable
Proven sufficient practical and theoretical knowledge in handling PSAgA in the respective subarea
Passed entrance test from SKYLOTEC
Learning content
Basic training in the field of national occupational health and safety and the German Social Accident Insurance
The participant knows requirements, norms and standards for the use of PPE and PSAgA
The participant knows rules and standards for working at heights and the inspection of PPE.
The participant knows the different materials from which PPE is made and their properties.
The participant knows how PPE is used and knows resulting problems. He recognizes defects as well as common damage patterns.
The participant carries out practical testing of various components of PPE, e.g. harnesses, ropes, lanyards, energy absorbers, carabiners and mobile anchor points as well as other equipment approved by the manufacturer for testing by an expert.
The participant knows which material he is allowed to test and that he is not allowed to make any changes or repairs.
The participant knows where to obtain further information on components of the PPE.
The participant is able to properly document the results of PPE testing.
The participant receives instruction on the Seal Pac test and the Safety Roll test (Level 1).
Certificate and validity period
Participants must pass a theoretical and a practical exam. They receive a certificate of successful participation. The validity of the certificate is not limited in time. Regular repetition is RECOMMENDED in order to stay up to date with norms, standards and products.
