SKYLOTEC is involved in "Operation Asterix" and has already vaccinated its employees

Companies from the Neuwied are fighting together against the coronavirus as part of "Operation Asterix". SKYLOTEC is also participating in the project initiated by the Karl Hack Foundation, which is intended to accelerate internal vaccinations in medium-sized and large companies. At the manufacturer of protective equipment, all employees have already received their first vaccination dose on a voluntary basis before the official start of vaccination measures by company doctors.

With the vaccination campaign "Operation Asterix", companies from the IHK advisory board in the Neuwied district want to integrate companies from the region and their employees more quickly into the vaccination chain - even before in-house vaccinations are officially released by the federal government at the beginning of June. SKYLOTEC is also participating in this campaign, which was initiated by Peter Hack, Chairman of the Board of Hack AG. "The health of our employees is close to our hearts. Therefore, it was important for us to actively participate in being able to offer our workforce comprehensive protection against the corona virus as quickly as possible," says Dr. Kai Rinklake, Managing Director at the manufacturer of protective equipment. The concept for "Operation Asterix" was supported by CDU Member of Parliament Erwin Rüddel. With success: recently the companies were allowed to start with the vaccinations.

Those who voluntarily opted for a COVID-19 vaccination at SKYLOTEC have meanwhile received their first vaccination dose during in-company vaccination by the team from the Neuwied practice of Dr. med. Josef Beran or during a vaccination carried out by the Karl Hack Foundation. The second is to be given in a few weeks according to the specifications of the individual vaccine manufacturers.

Effective protection and hygiene concept

During the Corona pandemic, SKYLOTEC not only expanded its product range to include medical face masks and masks for light respiratory protection, thus helping to reliably protect people from possible infection. The family-owned company also relies on a protection and hygiene concept to protect customers and employees. "This has also proved extremely effective in recent months because, on the one hand, the employees have adhered to it responsibly. On the other hand, it was due to the great commitment of our human resources department, which was prepared to accompany the successful implementation of our measures, often at short notice, for the health of our workforce," says Managing Director Kai Rinklake. This has made it possible to get through the crisis in good health so far and to permanently maintain regular operations.

For weeks SKYLOTEC has been offering its employees at the headquarters in Neuwied regular antigen quick tests and also antibody tests on a voluntary basis. For the antibody tests, state-of-the-art equipment is used that is not yet available in some doctors' practices. With the antibody tests, it is possible to determine whether employees have already formed antibodies and thus to detect a possibly undetected corona infection. This makes it possible to adapt internal Corona measures and prepare for upcoming vaccination opportunities. This is because with the help of the recorded antibody test data, the need for vaccination can be determined and a sequence established. Those who are already immune do not need vaccination according to the current status. "Our experience has been that this offer has been well received. This has contributed to the fact that we could now prepare the vaccinations in an uncomplicated way," says Rinklake.
