Test report about our safety harness TOWER PRO AL

Read the test report which has been sent to us by COMTRAIN / USA

I am pleased to announce that ComTrain has completed its in‐depth testing of your harness, “Tower Pro AL”.
As you are aware we evaluate every product with a rigorous three month process that we call ComTested. We are proud to state that we continue to be the largest end user testing experts in the field of communications. Not every product meets our standards, in fact quite the opposite. Our instructors only place approvals on less than 10%.
We found your new harness design to be very comfortable, attractive, and best of all light. At first we were concerned with all the extras. All too often they are frivolous and break off easily. Impressively most these did not. The button that holds the dorsal “D” ring in place really held up well and did not rip off until the harness was impacted (jumped). Your adjustment buckles are good, but the icing on the cake was in the Velcro “roll” of the extra webbing. A nice touch to eliminate the annoying flaps that exist on all full body harnesses. I was extremely impressed that they are still holding up to this day even though the harness is destroyed. We are recommending R&D on the padding for the leg straps. The pad itself does an excellent job spreading out the load to the inner thigh, but the Velcro fasteners fail. Every time the harness was donned they had to be reattached. This also causes them to migrate around the user’s leg, now placing the padding in the wrong spot to do its job. Especially bad if a fall is to happen and user is suspended after they move.

We found this harness most impressive in the following:

Lightweight and ergonomic. One of the lightest for our industry.
Attractive design and coloring. Almost sexy, if you can say that about a harness.
“D” ring button keeper really helps in connecting lanyards to the dorsal ring
The ability to hide the excess webbing (A+)
Good “Y” lanyard parks. Rigid plastics work buttons do not.
Great padding all around. Especially on the saddle.
Decent accessory rings and chords
Smooth quick‐release buckles on the leg straps.
Chest “O” ring works much better for ladder safety devices than a standard “D”.

The only negative we found with this harness:

The leg padding does not stay in place.

Above all, we at ComTrain give this product an “Excellent” rating. We personally believe it is one of the best harnesses on the market for the tower industry. Thank you again for your efforts with safety in the communications community.
