“Scout” – automatic fall arrester from SKYLOTEC with impressive details

In order to secure oneself horizontally against a fall and to reach higher or lower workplaces, fall arresters that travel with the worker are used for work at height. SKYLOTEC now presents an impressive innovation for such applications: with the “Scout” automatic fall arrester, the German manufacturer of fall protection systems has developed a solution that can be operated intuitively, glides almost without resistance and additionally protects users with well thought-out details. The “Scout” is also equipped with an energy absorber and already meets the increased requirements of EN 353-2, which will soon be published in an updated version.

Whether for work at height in telecommunications and energy supply, in high rack warehouses and confined spaces, on construction sites and during roof work or during operations by fire brigades, special forces and for rescue – in many cases a travelling fall arrester is used. It is attached to a safety rope and moves along the rope as it moves. Users can use it to secure themselves horizontally against a fall and reach a higher or lower workplace. The German manufacturer SKYLOTEC is launching an impressive solution in this area: the “Scout” automatic fall arrester. With intuitive operation, it glides along the rope with almost no resistance and remains safely in position even when temporarily blocked - a problem that has challenged many users until now. Now it is possible for users to position themselves optimally at their workplace.

“Scout” sets standards in terms of safety and innovation

When it comes to user safety, the “Scout” also has well thought-out details that provide additional protection: Installed on the rope, the device blocks immediately in the event of a fall or abrupt downward movements. In addition, the device is equipped with a panic function that minimises the risk of unintentional or deliberate opening. Thus SKYLOTEC, which has been developing and producing protective equipment in Germany for over 75 years, is once again setting standards in the field of personal protective equipment in terms of safety and innovation.

The “Scout” is robust and made of stainless steel, has a compact design and also has an integrated strap fall arrester. This protects the user from serious injuries in the event of a fall because it reduces the forces acting on the body to a maximum of 6 kN. The new fall arrester from SKYLOTEC is suitable for a user weight between 50 and 150 kilograms and already fulfils the increased requirements of EN 353-2, which will soon be published in an updated version.
