SKYLOTEC and Climbing Technology together at Vertical Pro

As one of the leading brands for personal protective equipment, SKYLOTEC has continued its growth strategy with the acquisition of Climbing Technology from Italy, a brand known worldwide in alpine mountaineering and sport climbing. At Vertical Pro, new and further developments from the areas of the high ropes course, climbing halls and rope access will be presented in a joint brand presentation.

SKYLOTEC has been developing and producing protective equipment in Germany for over 70 years. The family-owned company has been active in mountaineering since 2008 and in the field of rope-assisted work at height for several years.

„With the acquisition of the 'Climbing Technology', SKYLOTEC has also gained new opportunities in development and manufacturing in the sports sector."

The acquisition of Climbing Technology further expands its expertise in these areas. With the integration of the two associated production companies Aludesign and Securit, SKYLOTEC further expands its know-how as well as its manufacturing competencies. SKYLOTEC and "Climbing Technology" have a long history together. More than 25 years ago, Wolfgang Rinklake, who handed over the management of SKYLOTEC to his son Dr. Kai Rinklake in 2000, established a partnership and was the first customer of Aludesign founder Carlo Paglioli in the early days. "With the acquisition, what was created together is now coming together and has more potential together than separately. SKYLOTEC is growing, and so are Aludesign and Securit. Therefore, now is the optimal time to join forces. We are pleased to be able to use the 'Climbing Technology' brand to expand our product range in the field of sports and rope access as well as our know-how in the production of carabiners," says Dr. Kai Rinklake. In addition, both companies share a quality philosophy. "Every day we work on solutions that lead to more safety for people". That's why we have high quality standards not only in terms of safety, but also for criteria such as ergonomics and wearing comfort," says Rinklake

"The 'ActSafe ACX' is a solution that SKYLOTEC offers for motorized rope access for complex structures."

Equipment for every application

At Vertical Pro, Climbing Technology is already part of SKYLOTEC's presence. At the common booth, trade show visitors can discover a broad portfolio for all "professionals of the vertical" of both brands. This includes via ferrata sets for mountaineering enthusiasts, harnesses lanyards, rope and hand ascenders as well as abseiling and rescue equipment for industrial rope access technicians and rescue teams. Finally, the presentation at Vertical Pro is completed by solutions for motorized rope access, which allow people and material transport in an uncomplicated and efficient way. In this area, the family-owned company has become the market leader in 2019 through the acquisition of the manufacturer ActSafe.

Clear commitment to Europe as a location

The strategic acquisition of "Climbing Technology" is also a clear commitment to Europe as a location, creating its own production capacities and ensuring long-term stability of supply for customers. After all, the Corona pandemic has recently shown that long supply chains are vulnerable. In addition, costs for materials and logistics as well as delivery times have increased. SKYLOTEC has countered this by investing in the European location and at the same time becomes more independent of the supply chains from the Far East.
