SKYLOTEC Acquires Parts of TAGS Group Ltd.

As of 1 April 2022, SKYLOTEC, headquartered Germany, has taken over the intellectual property and assets for individual product groups of the Dutch TAGS Group. The acquisition completes the product range for law enforcement and armed forces (LEAF), making the German brand the world’s only manufacturer of complete solutions in the field of tactical access.

SKYLOTEC is a leading manufacturer of fall protection equipment, height rescue equipment and products for rope-based access. With its ActSafe power ascenders, SKYLOTEC is also a leader in battery-powered rope-based access systems for civilian, military and law enforcement applications. TAGS Group, meanwhile, specialises in access solutions for the military and police.

The acquisition by SKYLOTEC includes the Air Launcher systems; these are products that can shoot ropes and hooks to a higher point and, together with ActSafe equipment, provide rapid access from a lower position. These include products that have proven themselves on the market, such as the “Compact MK3”, but also the newly developed air launcher "Nano" and new developments of Single Pole ladder types that are used for maritime operations.

Dr Kai Rinklake, owner and CEO of SKYLOTEC says: “The acquisition is a logic and at the same time important step in the development of our product range for law enforcement and armed forces. It completes our product range and solves the problem of users to get access to complex reachable spots via rope or ladder. The family-owned company, which has been developing and producing protective equipment in Germany for 75 years, thus becomes the exclusive manufacturer of a complete product range for tactical access. “With the improvements offered through SKYLOTEC, we support our customers and help them to do their work better. In this way, we are following our growth strategy,” says Rinklake.

SKYLOTEC will manufacture these products in its production facilities in Europe. “The expansion of our portfolio will further strengthen our position as the market leader in tactical access. Through our global presence with the SKYLOTEC Group, the complete range of products, training and services is easily accessible to our customers worldwide,” says Jörgen Hellman, Managing Director of SKYLOTEC Nordic AB and responsible for the LEAF business unit.
