The maintenance of the church tower bell, which has to be carried out twice a year, presented a particular challenge, especially after the outdated fall protection system had to be taken out of service due to safety standards.
SKYLOTEC was awarded the contract to upgrade the safety system to the latest state of the art. The exsisting outdated system was replaced by the advanced SKYTAC rail system. In addition, special D-BOLT anchor points were installed to ensure safe access to the bell.
The biggest challenge was to convince the monument protection authorities that the installation of the new security system was necessary to ensure the safety of the workers without compromising the historical integrity of the building. With careful planning, it was possible to install the SKYTAC rail system in such a way that it meets the highest safety standards while leaving the historical heritage of the Ansgarkirche intact.
The SKYTAC system now allows workers to safely and securely perform the necessary maintenance and cleaning of the bell in the tower of the Ansgar Church. The SKYTAC rail system from SKYLOTEC offers the highest level of safety in accordance with EN 353-1 and ensures maximum fall protection, while also providing ease of use and efficient operation.
Made of robust steel with a hot-dip galvanised coating for unbeatable corrosion protection, it offers sure-footedness and slip resistance thanks to perforated rungs and small distances between the catch lugs, which considerably shorten the fall distances.
