Retractable type fall arresters are used as a component of personal protective equipment against falls from a height (PPE). They are like a lanyard between a safety harness and an anchor point. If a fall from a height occurs during work at height, a centrifugal mechanism activates the brake, which reliably stopps the fall. With the new RAPTOR series, SKYLOTEC has now developed a solution that significantly increases safety for users.
The retractable fall arresters RAPTOR and RAPTOR HUB fall arresters with automatic blocking function and self-retracting textile or steel rope enable safe working at height and depth.
The fall arresters feature retractable energy absorber, a linear force line and a clear anchor point. Thanks to the sophisticated design, RAPTOR also inspires in terms of storage, service and durability.
The retractable type fall arresters are certified according to EN 360:2002, (EN 1496:2017/A) and secure one person at a maximum user weight of 140 kilograms.

The retractable fall arresters are optionally equipped with the TRILOCK or SNAP HOOK carabiner. TRILOCK means "triple lock". When opening a TRILOCK karabiner, three different movements have to be made to open the gate. This reduces the risk of accidental opening during use. The SNAP HOOK karabiner is characterised above all by its robustness, which withstands the toughest weather conditions and is used primarily in the offshore industry.

The retractable fall arrester is modular so that all components can be replaced individually, reducing inspection times and maintenance costs.
In addition, all RAPTOR devices have two fall indicators - one in the housing and one on the carabiner. These indicate clear colour symbols whether the retractable fall arrester can still be used or needs to be checked by an expert.
A green indicator signals that the device is intact. A red indicator warns against further use, as the brake has already been released. The user is protected from a device that is no longer operational and additional time can be saved during the annually prescribed inspection.
An energy-absorbing plastic shock absorber prevents the carabiner from hitting the device's housing without braking when the rope is pulled in. This protects the RAPTOR not only against continuous impacts, but also against hand injuries when pulling in the rope, which significantly increases the service life (20 years).
Space-saving storage and optimal handling due to special housing design
The special device design makes it possible to store the fall arresters sideways and stack them on top of each other. The RAPTOR is available with a steel rope or stainless steel rope as well as with a textile strap in various lengths. The retractable type fall arrester can be operated intuitively because the anchor point is clearly designed in the shape of a handle and thus only allows one clear attachment option.
Easy to transport and attach
Due to their low weight, both RAPTOR and RAPTOR HUB are easy to transport to the place of use.
In addition, the weight makes it much easier to attach the devices.
Flexible working due to vertical and horizontal application
RAPTOR C is suitable for both vertical (140 kg) and horizontal (100 kg) use over edge thanks to a flexible interchangeable marking. RAPTOR C thus complies with EN 360:2002 and RFU PPE-R/11.060.

With RAPTOR it’s possible to work safely up to an angle of 45° with lateral deflection of up to 1.5 m.
Minimum working height when using the RAPTOR retractable fall arrester
When using the RAPTOR, it is mandatory to maintain a working height of at least 4 metres.

In comparisson to RAPTOR, the RAPTOR HUB is additionally equipped with a rescue lifting function, which can be activated in an emergency and enables a quick rescue. After inspection by a competent person, the unit is ready for use again after using the rescue lifting device, which increases its economic efficiency.

Intuitive attachment and compatibility with various tripod systems
RAPTOR HUB offers maximum application possibilities, as it can be used both independently on anchor points according to EN795 and in combination with an individual holder on the mobile anchor points TRIBOC, JACKPOD TRI and JACKPOD DAVIT. The respective holder can remain attached to the mobile anchor points when the device is removed.
